Every girl has a signature scent or at least a fragrance she wears the most, that makes her feel confident, uplifted and beautiful. For me
PRADA Candy and
PRADA Candy L'eau, to a lesser extent
fit the bill perfectly, which means that I rarely find myself wanting to switch things up. However being the girly girl I am, it shouldn't be a surprise that I have a well developed
fragrance library, that is stocked with various scents I either use less often or they might be a seasonal favorite.
I am a big fan of sweet gourmand scents and even though there was a time when I purchased perfumes based on the "
celebrity factor" and bottle design, today I tend to be a lot more selective and pragmatic when making a choice.
Marc Jacobs is a designer or a "brand" I haven't really associated too much with the beauty or fragrance industry and for me his label mostly corresponds with fashion and accessory designs. I have a mini
Daisy EDP bottle on my dresser that I used once or twice but I can't say I am too enamored with it so chances are it will most likely be gifted to one of my friends in due time.
The newest release by
Marc Jacobs is the perfectly whimsical
Honey Eau de Parfum Spray so its been in my collection for a very short time but long enough for me to conclude that even though its very different from my usual pics, it contains just enough "sweetness" for me to like it and actually wear it too.
Official Description;
Honey by Marc Jacobs is a sunny, delicious floral—energetic and alluring, with a sparkling, golden touch. The perfect mix of brightness and warmth.
This buzzing fragrance energizes with the freshness of green pear and a bright splash of fruity punch and juicy mandarin. Orange blossom resides at the heart of the fragrance and mingles with the nectars of honeysuckle and peach for a note of sparkling femininity. Honey, vanilla, and smooth woods dry down to a warm, golden base.
Notes;
Pear, Juicy Mandarin, Orange Blossom, Peach Nectar, Apricot, Honeysuckle, Honey, Golden Vanilla, Smooth Woods.
Style;
Sweet. Sassy. Energized.
The Marc Jacobs Honey Eau De Parfum was developed by the famous perfumer Annie Buzantian, in collaboration with Ann Gottlieb which is the same team that worked on the similarly packaged Dot release.
The name itself
Honey implies the sweetness of this perfume but if you are expecting a dessert-type of note then you will most likely end up disappointed. The fragrance starts out with soft honey and vanilla notes, peppered with slight whiffs of orange blossom water which then transform into a more fruit punch and pear kind of scent. The final transformation is saturated by woody, fresh, sweet orange notes which are softened with the continuous honey fragrance giving the whole perfume experience a comforting but also sophisticated/grown up feel to it.
The
Honey experience is a very trans-formative fragrance - it develops from warm and fruity to green and fresh but keeps its comforting feel throughout the whole journey. I believe that its the comforting soothing notes of soft
Honey that hold the appeal of this fragrance for a
gourmand fan like me.
The bottle design is very similar to that of
Marc Jacobs last fragrance
Dot so if you liked the lady-bug pattern of that then you will love the bee-inspired bottle of
Honey. I believe the intention was to make the bottle look like a modern little bee and the
Marc Jacobs design team definitively achieved that in a very sassy, striking way
.
I really like the shimmering pearl accents and the gold face plate featuring its namesake so even though I find the bottle the opposite of sophisticated I can still appreciate its fun, youthful appeal.
In conclusion I admit that I really like the new
Marc Jacobs Honey Eau de Parfum ($80 for 1.7 oz)
and its different enough for me to feel like its something "new" but not so out of my comfort zone that I am self-conscious about wearing it.

My Partner and I have was suffering from Herpes simplex for years. We have tried so many solutions with no result. One fateful day while browsing through the internet I saw a testimony of a client who got cured from herpes by Dr. Robinson buckler through herbal medicine so I decided to give a try. A try that changed our life for good. I contacted Dr. Robinson buckler and he sent some herbal medicine to us, which we took for 14 days. It was a great surprise when we went for a test and the test result came out negative., Dr. Robinson buckler brought joy into my family again. His result is 100% guaranteed. .. it's unbelievable! .... You contact him on his email. Robinsonbuckler11(at)gmail com..
